Cabo Frio modernizes public lighting across 27 neighborhoods, passing 700 LED luminaires
The switch to LED with remote management is moving through the city's streets, under a plan covering some 38,000 light points.
The modernization of Cabo Frio’s public lighting is moving through the city’s streets. According to the City of Cabo Frio, 716 LED luminaires have already been replaced, under a plan covering roughly 38,000 light points in total.
The work has reached 27 neighborhoods and 116 streets and avenues. The areas with the most replacements so far are Palmeiras (106), Braga (92), Praia do Siqueira (63), Vila do Ar (52) and Boca do Mato (43).
The new units are LED luminaires with a remote management system, allowing every light point to be monitored remotely. Luminaires removed during the work are disposed of properly, incinerated by specialized companies.
In a social media post, Comsercaf, the municipal services company, summed up where the work stands: “Cabo Frio’s public lighting is going through a modernization that will transform thousands of points across different parts of the city. The work is only just beginning.”
